Sage advice if you feel like you are coming down with something tea
This “super-herb” tea recipe may be able to turn the tables on a cold or flu. It’s also wonderful for sore throats.
The leafy celebrity at the heart of this potion is sage, the sacred plant many burn smudge homes with for its aromatic energy clearing powers. It also packs a serious punch for colds, viruses and bacterial infections.
Salvia officianalis is its full name, sage is an antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti… pretty much anti-anything-that-feels-lousy.
Preparation:
In a teapot or saucepan, bring about a quart of water to a boil.
Add the ginger, turmeric, and black peppercorns and simmer for about 10 minutes
Add the sage leaves and cayenne pepper, remove the teapot or saucepan from heat.
Let steep for another 10 – 15 minutes.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Pour a cup full, breath in the beautiful aroma, and see yourself healing. Rest and sip.
