Easy Vegetarian Gravy


  • 2 cups water
  • 1 stick of butter (or ghee)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos, Bragg’s, or tamari)
  • 1/2 cup flour (or chickpea flour or your flour of choice)


In a sauce pan, melt all the butter over medium-low heat. Add the flour and lightly brown it, stirring with a wire whisk.

Add the soy sauce while still whisking. It will thicken considerably and quickly.  Then slowly add the water a little at a time while continuing to whisk until desired thickness is achieved.
